Heavy Plant Mechanic

 Job Summary

AX Constuction is looking for a Heavy Plant mechanic. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Inspecting vehicle engine, hydraulics, and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately
  • Inspecting vehicle computer and electronic systems to repair & maintain
  • Conducting routine maintenance work aiming to vehicle functionality and longevity
  • Maintain equipment and tools in good condition
  • Repair or replace broken or dysfunctional parts and fix issues
  • Conduct routine maintenance work (replacing fluids, lubricating parts etc.) aiming to vehicle functionality and longevity
  • Conduct repairs aiming for maximum reliability
  • Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them promptly
  • Perform thorough maintenance on machinery, equipment, and systems
  • Ability to follow orders,procedures, and practices
  • Observe & report problems & improvements in vehicles
  • Report to emergencies & breakdowns when needed

Requirements: 

  • Capable of working with a range of vehicles, ranging from lorries, trucks, vans, cranes, and lifters
  • Excellent skills in electrical systems and fault diagnostics, proven ability in hydraulic systems,
    including repairs
  • Knowledge of standards, quality control and record-keeping
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to observe all safety precautions for protections against accidents etc.
  • Team-player
  • 5 years proven work experience in a similar environment
  • Able to work outside normal working hours if needed
