Job Summary

AX Construction is hiring a mechanic with 3 years proven work experience, capable to work with a range of vehicles, ranging from lorries, trucks, vans, cranes and lifters.


  • Inspect vehicle engine, hydraulics and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately
  • Inspect vehicle computer and electronic systems to repair & maintain;
  • Conduct routine maintenance work aiming to vehicle functionality and longevity;
  • Maintain equipment and tools in good condition;
  • Repair or replace broken or dysfunctional parts and fix issues;
  • Conduct routine maintenance work (replacing fluids, lubricating parts etc.) aiming to vehicle functionality and longevity;
  • Conduct repairs aiming for maximum reliability;
  • Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner;
  • Perform thorough maintenance on machinery, equipment and systems;
  • Ability to follow orders from superiors, procedures and practices;
  • Observe & report problems & improvements on vehicles;


  • Previous experience in a similar environment
  • Proven skills in electrical systems and fault diagnostics
  • Proven ability in hydraulic systems including repairs
  • Familiar with excellent standards, quality control, record-keeping
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
  • Team player

The place of work will be at the AX Construction Garage at
Hardrocks Industrial Park Burrmarad. However, should need be, the employee
might be requested to attend to stranded vehicles around Malta and Gozo.
Working hours are from Monday to Friday between 7.00 am and 3.30 pm. There might be
instances where the employee might be requested to work beyond the normal
working hours.
