Endless Opportunities Working with AX Care
We Can Discuss These Opportunities Over a Coffee
So come and visit the AX Recruitment Day on the 18th and 19th of May at The Hilltop Gardens Naxxar, from 09.00 till 13.00hrs.
All my career I have worked in human resources. The large portion of it was within the financial services industry and for a short while, within the telecommunication sector, until I arrived at AX Care Simblija Carehome and Hilltop Gardens.
My role is that of a Human Resource manager, at the first retirement village on the island. Our chairman Mr Angelo Xuereb had a vision, of what life should look like when you retire. AX Group wanted to offer people Malta’s first unique retirement village, where they will receive personal and individualised attention like nowhere else on the island, making it a place to retire in luxury with state-of-the-art facilities and services to soothe your senses.
It took some time for people to understand our concept, we host both independent and assisted living facilities under one roof of AX Care. We have Hilltop Gardens for people who are enjoying their retired, but fully independent life and we have Simblija Care Home where we provide high-quality care to our residents by meeting their physical, mental, social and spiritual needs, within a safe, secure and comfortable environment. We also have Revive, the physiotherapy and aquatic centre.
At Hilltop Gardens residents lease luxurious apartments or penthouses and have access to all facilities within the walls of the village, including the restaurant, the lounge, the pool, the gym and spa, the bocci pitch, the library, etc. It looks and feels like a hotel but exclusively for people over 55. Adjacent we have Simblija Care Home where our aim is primarily that of providing quality care when dependency does not allow one to be cared for or even live at home, we do this based on the three principles of Care, Compassion and Commitment to creating a home environment where residents can remain active in their everyday activities whilst connected to their families and friends.
This retirement village takes a village of people to take care of it! Recruitment for such a diverse complex is very interesting. I handle applications for nurses, carers and physiotherapists, but also food and beverage and kitchen crew, security personnel, technicians, etc. Although we are only 4 years old we have already seen many career progressions in our village. I think the best example and inspiration for many women is Charmaine Attard. She has been with the village since the very beginning and started as Director of Care, in 2017 she was appointed General Manager for the whole facility.
All I can say is that within this group we offer opportunities and the rest is really up to you.
