Job Summary
We are seeking dedicated and hardworking Kitchen Porter to join our team at the Verdala Wellness Hotel-AX Privilege. The ideal candidates will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen and dining areas. As a Kitchen Porter, you will assist with washing dishes, pots, and utensils, as well as ensuring that all kitchen equipment is clean and properly stored. You will support the culinary team by maintaining a hygienic environment and helping with basic food preparation tasks as needed. A strong work ethic and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment, including washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment to ensure a hygienic workspace.
- Manage waste disposal and recycling in compliance with health and safety regulations, ensuring that all waste is handled and disposed of properly.
- Assist in organising and storing kitchen supplies and equipment, ensuring that everything is in good working condition and readily accessible.
- Conduct routine checks of the kitchen area to maintain cleanliness and order, addressing any sanitation issues promptly.
- Support the kitchen team by preparing and maintaining the cleanliness of workstations, ensuring that all surfaces are sanitised and ready for use.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the Executive Chef or relevant departments promptly to prevent disruptions in kitchen operations.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation regulations, including proper handling and storage of cleaning supplies and chemicals.
- Assist with additional tasks as needed to support the kitchen operations, contributing to a smooth and efficient workflow.
- Monitor and address any issues related to cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen, aiming to enhance overall kitchen efficiency and safety.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and hygiene.
- Good physical fitness and the ability to lift moderate weights.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong teamwork skills and a positive attitude.
- Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices is a plus.
- Good level of English
