Job Summary
An exciting opportunity has opened for a Financial Controller to join our growing team at AX Construction ltd. This position is ideal for someone with a solid finance experience who is eager to take on more responsibility in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement financial control policies and procedures to safeguard company assets, mitigate risks, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies.
- Conduct regular reviews and assessments of existing controls to identify weaknesses or areas for improvement and develop and implement action plans to address findings.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits and ensure timely resolution of audit findings and recommendations.
- Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Manage company cashflows effectively and ensure that credit terms with suppliers are adhered to secure the best purchasing deals.
- Monitor financial performance against budget and forecast, investigate variances, and provide explanations and recommendations to management.
- Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, including the review and reconciliation of accounts, and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Manage the financial reporting systems and processes, including accounting software, and implement enhancements or upgrades as needed to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the finance team, including training and development opportunities to enhance skills and competencies.
- Collaborate with other departments, including operations, sales, and quantity surveying, to provide financial insights and support decision-making processes.
- Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards, regulations, and industry trends, and ensure compliance.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 3 years of accounting experience within a similar role
- Fully qualified and warranted as an Accountant
- Exceptional communication skills in written and spoken English
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- A can-do attitude, with the ability to work collaboratively and lead change effectively.
