Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Stores Officer/Clerk to join our team at the Verdala Wellness Hotel-AX Privilege. The main responsibilities of the role include maintaining inventories, ordering new items, placing products on shelves, pulling our expired items, and keeping records of transferred goods. The chosen candidate will also perform administrative tasks to support the daily business operations such as processing invoices, scanning documentation and handling calls, amongst others. This position will be under the general guidance and supervision of the Hotel Manager and the Head of Procurement, and within the limits of established hotel policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately process purchase orders, track deliveries, and verify that received goods match order specifications. Resolve discrepancies and follow up, as necessary.
- Input invoices and request credit notes.
- Verify that all supplies meet the hotels’ quality standards.
- Inspect incoming goods to ensure, they meet the specifications before acceptance.
- Monitor inventory levels to prevent overstocking or stockouts.
- Collaborate with the various departments, such as Food and Beverage, Administration and Finance, to ensure that procurement aligns with their needs, and support overall business operations.
- Prepare reports and analyse data.
- Attend Stock takes if required.
- Ensure that all activities are as per the established guidelines established by the Hotel Manager and the Head of Procurement.
- Assist in the Purchasing department when required.
- Actively participate in training and development programs and maximize opportunities for self-development.
Requirements:
- A good standard of education.
- Fluency in the English language, both written and spoken.
- A good level of computer literacy.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently, and thrive in a challenging environment,
- Flexible to learn and perform different tasks and duties, and able to take decisions when not supervised.
- Willing to work flexible hours, including weekends.
- Previous experience with Materials Control will be considered an asset.
