Job Summary
Are you a strategic procurement professional with a strong background in construction and development? We are looking for a Procurement Manager to lead the end-to-end procurement process, ensuring efficient sourcing, cost management, and seamless material delivery for our construction projects.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the procurement function for development and construction projects, ensuring that materials, services, and supplies are sourced in line with project specifications and timelines.
- Develop and execute procurement strategies, including the identification of both local and international suppliers.
- Source and evaluate suppliers from abroad, researching and negotiating favorable terms to achieve cost-effective solutions.
- Review and understand Bills of Quantities (BOQs) to ensure accurate procurement of materials and services.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, designers and engineers to ensure alignment between procurement activities and project specifications.
- Work closely with the Contracts Manager for tendering process, evaluating bids, and negotiating contracts with suppliers and vendors.
- Monitor and maintain supplier performance to ensure quality, delivery, and cost standards are met.
- Track and manage procurement budgets, ensuring cost control and value for money in all purchases.
- Oversee the timely delivery of materials to construction sites to avoid project delays.
- Stay current with market trends, supply chain developments, and industry regulations to identify potential improvements and opportunities in procurement.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to foster long-term partnerships.
- Manage procurement documentation and ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.
- Create and update policies in line with requirements.
- Assist in resolving procurement-related issues and ensure any project-related challenges are addressed promptly.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5 years of experience in procurement. Previous experience in development and construction projects will be considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of BOQs and how they apply to procurement activities in construction.
- Preferably with experience in international sourcing, including identifying and negotiating with overseas suppliers.
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills, with a demonstrated ability to secure favorable terms and conditions.
- Knowledge of procurement processes, tendering, and supplier management.
- Ability to think outside the box and find innovative solutions to procurement challenges.
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools, as well as MS Office Suite.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
