Head of Care

Job Summary

AX Care is seeking a dedicated and experienced Head of Care to oversee the day-to-day operations of our care home. This leadership role is vital in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care, maintaining a safe, compliant, and supportive environment for residents. We are looking for a dynamic and compassionate professional with strong management skills, a passion for elderly care, and a commitment to upholding dignity and respect in all aspects of service.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and support the nursing and care team to ensure residents receive high-quality, individualised care.
• Promote independence and choice, encouraging residents to actively participate in daily living activities.
• Train, mentor, and integrate new nurses and care staff into the team.
• Be a visible and accessible leader, engaging with residents, families, employees, and healthcare professionals.
• Collaborate with Allied Health Practitioners (AHP) and ensure seamless follow-ups within a multidisciplinary team (MDT).
• Continuously assess and enhance residents' well-being, ensuring their needs and preferences are met.
• Oversee audits, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective measures.
• Ensure full compliance with statutory regulations while upholding the company’s professional image.

Requirements:

• Minimum five years' experience in a similar role, ideally with a Level 6 Nursing qualification.
• Management experience in a Care Home or Clinical setting is highly desirable.
• Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills to effectively guide teams and support residents.
• Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive and solution-driven mindset.
