Job Summary
AX Hotels Qawra are looking for Assistant Front Office Managers. The main responsibilities include providing functional assistance and direction to the Front Office operation, interacting with guests as well as individuals outside the hotel including but not limited to travel industry representatives, competitors, suppliers, contractors and other members of the local community.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor the Front Office staff members to ensure that the guests receive prompt and cordial attention, and personal recognition
- Assist the Front Office Manager in liaising with the Guest Services Manager
- Help in maximizing room sales and other hotel revenue
- Inform other operating departments of any matters concerning their area
- Conduct, under the guidance of the Front Office Manager, such functions as interviewing, orientations, hiring, performance appraisal, counseling, coaching, and disciplinary action if necessary to ensure appropriate staffing and productivity
- Develop formal training plans and implement training sessions in conjunction with the departmental training coordinator
- Conduct on the job training sessions
- Schedule and conduct routine inspections of the area under their control
- Assume responsibility for a main cash float and ensure that the Front Office floats are maintained according to established policies
- Maintain appropriate standards of conduct, dress, hygiene, uniforms, appearance, and posture of the employees
- Conduct comprehensive monthly departmental meetings to include a review of procedures and events, which warrant special handling and detailed information
- Promote inter-hotel sales and in-house facilities.
- Participate, in the Front Office Manager absence, in the Revenue meetings, and present creative ideas for new initiatives, and actively support any revenue creating actions.
- Participate in the preparation of the hotel’s strategic and marketing plans
- Monitor and control the Front Office operation in the areas of revenue expenditure, profitability and performance against budget
- Monitor and control the inventories of the operating equipment and supplies
- Assume the responsibilities of the Front Office Manager in their absence.
- Establish and maintain effective employee relations and inter-departmental relationships
- Contributes towards other hotel activities as appropriate
- Monitor closely the hotel's availability, target rooms up-sell, board basis Up-sell and room retention.
- Monitor closely group reservations, and anticipate changes
- Participate in special projects and perform related duties
- Actively participate in training and development programs to maximize the opportunities for self-development.
Requirements:
- A good standard of education
- Excellent computer skills
- Posses guest-oriented mindset
- Excellent communication skills in the English language
- A minimum of 2 years of working experience in a similar role
- Willing and able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Proven track record in leading a team
- Ability to monitor and meet financial targets
