Job Summary
The Security Officer position at Hilltop Gardens Retirement Village entails the crucial responsibility of ensuring the safety and protection of clients, visitors, and staff, along with maintaining the security of assets and the premises.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct patrols of the premises and personnel to ensure their security, including monitoring surveillance equipment and inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points.
- Monitor and authorize the entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other individuals to prevent theft and maintain the overall security of the premises.
- Respond promptly to alarms and disturbances, conducting thorough investigations as needed.
- Maintain detailed reports of daily activities by accurately documenting observations, relevant information, occurrences, and surveillance activities.
- Investigate and promptly report any signs of damage or unlawful entry that may occur.
- Perform regular spot checks and searches to deter theft and enhance security measures.
- Ensure the proper functioning of essential equipment, such as CCTV cameras and the nurse call system.
- Answer incoming telephone calls and relay messages efficiently and effectively.
- Promptly respond to nurse call alerts and alarms, thoroughly investigating and addressing the situation.
- Collaborate and communicate with the Police Department and/or local law enforcement agencies in emergency situations.
- Uphold the organization's stability and reputation by consistently complying with legal requirements and regulations.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance skills and stay up to date with the latest security protocols.
- Fulfill any other duties that may be required from time to time in order to maintain a secure environment.
Requirements:
- Possession of a valid Security Guard license issued by the Commissioner of Police is required.
- Proficient oral and written communication skills in English, along with strong writing abilities.
- Demonstrating intelligence, alertness, and possessing excellent security and customer care skills.
- Possession of a clean police conduct record.
- Holding a valid driving license and having access to personal transportation.
- Competence in computer literacy.
- Capable of working independently, taking initiative, and requiring minimal supervision.
- Previous work experience in the field of security will be regarded as an advantageous asset.
