Job Summary
AX Care seeks a dynamic Chief Security Officer to spearhead the safety initiatives at Hilltop Gardens Retirement Village. As the guardian of corporate and physical security, the chosen candidate will helm a team of vigilant Security Officers, proactively identifying risks and swiftly responding to incidents ranging from criminal activity to emergencies like fires, ensuring the utmost safety and tranquility for all residents and staff.
Security Protocols and Procedures:
- Implementing and managing security policies and procedures to safeguard residents, staff, and property within the care home.
- Overseeing access control measures, surveillance systems, and emergency response procedures.
- Developing and conducting security training programs for staff to ensure awareness and compliance with security policies.
Collaboration and Coordination:
- Working collaboratively with all departments within the care home, such as nursing, administration, and facilities management, to address security concerns and ensure a holistic approach to safety and security.
- Liaising with external law enforcement agencies, emergency responders, and regulatory bodies as needed.
Emergency Preparedness:
- Developing and maintaining emergency preparedness plans and procedures to respond to various scenarios, such as natural disasters, medical emergencies, or security threats.
- Conducting regular drills and training exercises to test the effectiveness of emergency response plans and identify areas for improvement.
Knowledge:
- In-depth knowledge of security principles, practices, and procedures, particularly as they relate to healthcare settings and the unique challenges of a care home environment.
- Understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards pertaining to security and health and safety in healthcare facilities.
Skills:
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead a security team, set objectives, and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, necessary for interacting with residents, staff, visitors, and external stakeholders.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills to assess security risks, develop strategies for mitigation, and respond effectively to security incidents.
- Attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation related to security activities.
Ethics and Professionalism:
- Upholding high ethical standards and professionalism in all aspects of the role, including confidentiality, integrity, and respect for residents' rights and dignity.
- Adhering to legal and ethical guidelines governing security practices and ensuring that the rights and privacy of residents are always protected.
Continuous Improvement:
- Staying abreast of developments in security technology, best practices, and regulatory requirements relevant to the care home environment.
- Proactively identifying opportunities for improvement in security policies, procedures, and infrastructure to enhance the overall safety and security of the care home.
Work Experience:
- Extensive experience in security management.
- Prior experience in a leadership or managerial role is required, demonstrating the ability to lead and manage security personnel effectively.
Qualification:
- Certification in security management or relevant fields such as the Nebosh certification
