AX Care encompasses two models of care such as independent living where residents over 55 can enjoy a relaxed retirement at Hilltop Gardens and a top facility care home Simblija where residents can receive tailor made assistance according to their needs. We believe in creating a haven of warmth, dignity, and compassion for our elderly residents.
We are currently seeking a seasoned General Manager to lead and oversee operations at both our Care Home and Retirement Village. This is one of the most rewarding healthcare jobs in Malta for someone who thrives in a people-centric and purpose-driven environment.
Responsibilities:
- Shape the future of Hilltop Gardens by providing strategic leadership for the Care Home and Retirement Village to ensure long-term growth.
- Guide operational excellence through executive oversight, collaborating closely with the Assistant General Manager on day-to-day decision-making.
- Drive service innovation by developing and executing business strategies that enhance the resident experience and operational efficiency.
- Champion major development projects, providing the leadership and governance needed to see capital investments through to success.
- Uphold the highest standards of care, ensuring all services exceed regulatory requirements and reflect our organisational values.
- Empower the senior management team, fostering a high-performance culture through mentorship and professional development.
- Manage financial health by overseeing budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation to ensure the organisation's sustainability.
- Cultivate meaningful connections with residents, families, and external partners to build a vibrant and trusted community.
- Ensure a safe and compliant environment by overseeing all health, safety, care, and employment regulations across the site.
Requirements:
- Proven leadership experience, ideally in the healthcare or elder care sector, with the ability to manage operations for multiple sites.
- Candidates with hotel management experience are also encouraged to apply, provided they demonstrate strong operational and customer service skills transferable to the care home and retirement village industry.
- Strong understanding of the care home and retirement village industry, including regulatory requirements (preferred but not mandatory for hotel managers).
- Financial acumen with experience in managing budgets and achieving operational efficiency.
- A strong commitment to delivering exceptional care and services to residents.
