Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Head Housekeeper to join our team at our prestigious 5-star hotel. The ideal candidate will have experience in a managerial role, ensuring an exceptional experience for our guests. The chosen candidate will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality service, maintaining hotel standards, and upholding our commitment to excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure consistent application of Forbes Travel Guide standards across training, daily operations, and inspections.
- Lead regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house to uphold cleanliness and service quality.
- Collaborate with senior management to implement improvements based on audits, guest feedback, and internal reviews.
- Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing housekeeping team, fostering accountability and service excellence.
- Promote a culture of detail, discretion, and guest-centric service.
- Conduct team briefings on cleanliness, sustainability, and personalised service.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure room readiness, handle maintenance issues, and fulfill guest requests.
- Oversee delivery of key Forbes touchpoints such as turndown service, linen quality, and personalised gestures.
- Maintain and update SOPs in line with Forbes standards and sustainability goals.
- Manage guest room inventories and amenities to ensure consistency, luxury, and sustainable use.
- Monitor lost-and-found procedures and ensure proper guest communication.
- Review reports to resolve incidents and maintain service consistency.
- Contribute to departmental budget planning and cost efficiency.
- Oversee linen, uniform, and consumables inventory, and manage supplier contracts and audits.
- Ensure compliance with hygiene, safety, emergency, and sustainability protocols.
- Support GSTC and environmental initiatives, including green cleaning and waste reduction.
- Coordinate thoughtful in-room experiences for VIPs, influencers, and returning guests based on preferences.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar housekeeping leadership role
- Fluent in spoken and written English; proficiency in additional languages is an advantage
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire, mentor, and motivate a team
- Impeccable personal presentation, professional demeanor, and a genuine luxury service mindset
- Proven background in luxury hospitality; experience in Forbes Travel Guide-rated environments is highly desirable
- In-depth knowledge of cleaning standards, room presentation, and operational logistics in fast-paced settings
- Exceptional organisational and communication skills
- Meticulous attention to detail and a proactive, guest-focused approach
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
