Job Summary
AX Hotels Sliema is seeking an experienced Rooms Division Manager to oversee and lead the Rooms Division departments, ensuring seamless operations and exceptional guest experiences. The role covers Front Office, Housekeeping, and Maintenance, requiring a strong leader who can balance guest satisfaction, operational efficiency, team performance, and cost control in line with AX Hotels’ brand standards.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of Front Office, Housekeeping, and Maintenance.
- Ensure the highest levels of guest satisfaction, handling and resolving guest complaints when required.
- Monitor service quality to meet AX Hotels brand standards and comply with all health & safety regulations in Malta.
- Lead, train, mentor, and develop teams within the Rooms Division, including Front Office, Housekeeping, Guest Services, and Concierge.
- Work closely with the Maintenance Manager on preventive maintenance, repairs, and project work.
- Support budgeting processes, monitor costs, and control departmental expenses.
- Manage inventory of linens, amenities, and cleaning supplies to ensure cost-effective procurement and minimal wastage.
- Enforce all safety, emergency, fire, and health & safety protocols across Rooms Division staff.
- Conduct regular inspections of rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities, ensuring timely repairs and upkeep.
- Foster collaboration between Rooms Division and other hotel departments for smooth guest service delivery.
- Organize regular team briefings/meetings, ensuring effective communication of schedules, policy updates, and VIP arrangements.
- Implement, review, and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) across all Rooms Division departments.
- Analyze guest feedback, mystery audits, and present findings with actionable insights to management.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for the Rooms Division.
- Oversee F&B Operations when required, ensuring service quality and guest satisfaction.
Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management (preferred).
- Minimum 3 years of hotel experience, specifically in Rooms Division.
- Proven supervisory or management experience within Rooms Division departments.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Fluent in English (written & spoken). Knowledge of Maltese and/or other European languages will be considered an asset.
- Computer literacy and familiarity with hotel management systems.
- Professional appearance, excellent personal presentation, and attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts and rosters
