Job Summary
We are looking for a dependable and experienced General Maintenance professional to join our team at AX The Verdala. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal operation and upkeep of all hotel facilities and equipment. Your tasks will include a variety of maintenance duties designed to provide a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment for both guests and staff.
Responsibilities:
- Perform regular inspections of the hotel’s buildings, equipment, and facilities to ensure everything is in proper working condition.
- Proactively identify and address potential issues before they develop into major problems.
- Handle repairs related to electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.
- Repair doors, windows, furniture, and other fixtures as required throughout the property.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff or tenants to resolve issues efficiently.
- Follow established schedules for servicing machinery, systems, and equipment to maintain consistent operation.
- Ensure all maintenance work complies with safety regulations and manufacturer guidelines.
- Carry out duties in accordance with Maltese health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe work environment at all times.
- Be available to manage urgent maintenance issues outside of regular working hours if required.
- Respond quickly to incidents such as leaks, electrical faults, or other safety hazards to minimize disruption and maintain safety.
Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience in general maintenance, ideally within luxury hotels or the hospitality sector, with a minimum of two years in a similar position required.
- Fluency in English is essential; knowledge of additional languages is considered an asset.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong organizational abilities and keen attention to detail in completing maintenance tasks.
- Effective communication skills that enable positive interactions with guests and team members.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations, particularly regarding the storage and handling of products.
- Willingness and flexibility to work various shifts as needed to support hotel operations.
