Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and friendly Spa Therapist to join our team at AX The Verdala, our luxury wellness Hotel. The ideal candidate will have a passion for health and well-being, with experience in various massage techniques, body treatments, and spa therapies. As a Spa Therapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality spa services, tailored to meet the needs of our guests. You will also maintain a calm and welcoming environment, ensuring that all services are performed to the highest professional standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive consultations with guests to assess their wellness needs, health history, and lifestyle goals, tailoring spa and wellness treatments to address their specific physical and emotional well-being.
• Perform a diverse range of spa therapies, including massages, body treatments, facials, spa rituals, and holistic therapies, using appropriate techniques, products, and equipment to achieve optimal results.
• Provide expert guidance and personalized recommendations on skin health, body care, and holistic wellness practices, educating guests about the benefits of ongoing treatments and home-care routines for maintaining long-term well-being.
• Create a calming and immersive wellness environment, ensuring that treatment and consultation rooms are clean, well-organized, and fully prepared to promote relaxation, tranquility, and rejuvenation.
• Maintain accurate and confidential guest records, including treatment notes, health assessments, and product recommendations, ensuring compliance with spa policies and industry standards.
• Collaborate with the Wellness Manager/Head of Wellness and fellow team members to develop and enhance innovative spa treatments, wellness experiences, and promotional offerings that attract and retain guests.
• Foster strong and lasting guest relationships by providing exceptional service, personalized attention, and a nurturing approach, enhancing guest satisfaction and encouraging repeat visits.
• Uphold AX Hotels’ values, mission, and wellness philosophy, demonstrating a commitment to service excellence, guest well-being, and a holistic approach to wellness in all interactions with clients and colleagues

Requirements

• Recognised qualification in massage therapy or spa treatments.
• At least 2 years of experience as a Spa Therapist in a luxury spa or wellness centre.
• Expertise in a variety of massage techniques (e.g., Swedish, deep tissue, hot stone) and other spa treatments (e.g., facials, body wraps).
• Strong commitment to delivering personalised services and creating a relaxing, rejuvenating experience for guests.
• Fluency in English, with excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills; knowledge of additional languages is considered an asset.
• Ability to maintain a calm and professional demeanour in a high-end environment.
• Strong attention to cleanliness, presentation, and guest satisfaction.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other wellness and spa staff.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• A genuine interest in health, wellness, and ongoing professional development.
