General Maintenance/Painter

Job Summary

At AX Hotels, we believe that great experiences start behind the scenes. We’re currently looking for a General Maintenance / Painter to join our Maintenance team in Qawra, supporting the smooth operation, safety, and appearance of our hotel facilities.

As a General Maintenance / Painter, you will be responsible for carrying out day‑to‑day maintenance works across the hotel, supporting repairs, renovations, and upkeep activities while ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.

Responsibilities:

• Carry out routine maintenance checks, cleaning, and upkeep of all maintenance areas
• Respond to daily room and departmental maintenance requests and follow through to resolution
• Perform general painting, plastering, sanding, and finishing works in guest rooms and public areas
• Carry out basic plumbing and drainage works
• Perform basic electrical tasks, including replacing bulbs and connecting appliances
• Assist with wet works such as tiling, grouting, and gypsum soffit works
• Carry out basic carpentry tasks including replacing glass panes, locks, and hinges
• Support swimming pool and pool deck maintenance, including cleaning and setup
• Assist technicians and other departments with projects and tasks as required
• Carry out manual labour and lifting when necessary
• Follow company grooming, service, and health & safety standards at all times

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a similar maintenance role
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, and general building works
• Confident using hand and electrical tools
• Able to read and understand technical manuals and drawings
• Physically fit with good stamina and manual dexterity
• A proactive, “can‑do” attitude with strong attention to detail
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Trade School Certificate or equivalent is considered an asset
