Job Summary
AX Odycy is looking for a steady and professional Security Officer to support the overall safety of the hotel. Working under the Security Manager, this role helps maintain a calm and secure environment for guests and employees throughout the property.
The focus is on being present, observant, and consistent, contributing to a setting where people feel safe and well looked after. As part of the security team, you will help keep daily routines running smoothly and support the hotel in following its established standards and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Install and maintain security systems including alarms, access controls, and surveillance equipment.
- Inspect and patrol premises regularly to ensure safety and detect irregularities.
- Monitor surveillance cameras and report suspicious behaviour or security risks.
- Communicate with emergency services such as police, fire departments, and medical personnel when required.
- Monitor public access and ensure the safety of employees, visitors, and contractors.
- Respond to alarms and assess situations promptly and accurately.
- Investigate incidents, suspicious behaviour, and potential security breaches.
- Apprehend and detain perpetrators according to legal protocol until authorities arrive.
- Maintain activity logs and prepare accurate surveillance and incident reports.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, legal regulations, and safety standards.
- Prepare security status reports for management.
- Assist individuals in need during emergencies or safety‑related situations.
- Investigate suspicious items or possessions in line with security protocols.
Requirements:
- Must currently reside in Malta.
- Registered as a Security Officer in Malta and holds a valid license.
- Good standard of education.
- Fluency in English.
- Previous experience in a hospitality industry or similar role.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions without supervision.
- Knowledge of legal guidelines for area security and public safety.
- Strong surveillance and observation skills.
- Tech‑savvy with experience in surveillance systems.
- Flexibility to work shifts including weekends and holidays.
