Job Summary
We are seeking to recruit a Junior Restoration Manager to support the planning, coordination, and delivery of restoration and conservation projects across historic buildings and monuments. In this role, you will assist in the management of restoration projects from commencement through to completion. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, specialist contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered to the highest conservation and quality standard.
This opportunity is ideal for professionals who have already gained exposure to restoration, conservation, construction, architecture, or project coordination and are looking to further develop their career within the heritage sector.
Responsibilities:
- Support the day-to-day coordination and delivery of restoration projects, from planning and scheduling through to implementation.
- Assist in overseeing restoration works on historic buildings and heritage assets, ensuring compliance with approved conservation principles, specifications, and heritage regulations.
- Monitor site activities, coordinate specialist trades, conservators, restorers, craftsmen, and contractors, and help resolve technical site-related issues.
- Participate in site inspections, progress reviews, quality checks, and approval processes to ensure works are completed to the required standards.
- Track project progress, maintain project documentation and site records, and prepare regular updates and reports for management.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and regulatory authorities to support effective project delivery and stakeholder communication.
- Attend site and project meetings, prepare meeting minutes and action trackers, and support the follow-up of agreed actions.
- Promote and maintain compliance with health and safety requirements, planning conditions, and relevant heritage legislation.
Requirements:
- A qualification in Architecture, Restoration, Conservation, Construction Management, Project Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience or exposure to restoration, conservation, construction, heritage, or project-based environments.
- Knowledge of traditional stone construction and restoration techniques will be considered an asset.
- Strong organisational, project coordination, and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Good analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a practical approach to resolving challenges.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- A basic understanding of health and safety requirements within a construction or site-based environment.
