Job Summary
AX Construction is looking for a Mobile Crane Driver. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in our construction projects by operating mobile cranes to lift, move, and position heavy materials, equipment, and structures. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the crane while adhering to all safety regulations and project specifications.
Responsibilities:
- Operate mobile cranes safely to lift, move, and position loads in accordance with approved lift plans and site requirements.
- Conduct lifting operations in compliance with method statements, risk assessments, and safe systems of work.
- Follow instructions and signals from authorised signallers, banksmen, and site supervisors at all times.
- Carry out daily pre-use inspections and basic checks on cranes, lifting accessories, and safety devices.
- Ensure outriggers, mats, and lifting equipment are correctly positioned and used before commencing lifting activities.
- Report defects, faults, hazards, or safety concerns immediately and refrain from operating unsafe equipment.
- Ensure all lifting operations remain within the crane's rated capacity and operating limits.
- Maintain the crane in a clean, safe, and serviceable condition.
- Comply with all Health & Safety legislation, company policies, and site safety procedures.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties related to crane operations as assigned by site management.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years experience operating mobile cranes within a construction or similar industrial environment.
- Valid Mobile Crane Operator licence/certification recognised in Malta.
- Valid Category C, CE and C1 driving licences.
- Good knowledge of lifting plans, load charts, lifting accessories, and safe lifting practices.
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation, risk assessments, and safe systems of work.
- Ability to carry out daily pre-use inspections and identify equipment defects or safety concerns.
- Medically fit to operate heavy lifting equipment safely.
- Willingness to work across multiple sites and in accordance with project requirements.
