As a Steel Fixer, you’ll play a vital role in the construction process by installing and fixing steel structures across various project sites.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret structural drawings and bar bending schedules (BBS).
• Cut, bend, shape, and install reinforcement steel and mesh in accordance with project specifications.
• Position and secure reinforcement for columns, beams, slabs, foundations, and other concrete structures.
• Ensure reinforcement is accurately spaced, aligned, and installed prior to concrete pouring.
• Inspect reinforcement works and report any defects, deviations, or material issues to the Foreman.
• Assist with the preparation and handling of materials, tools, and equipment required for daily activities.
• Work collaboratively with site teams to achieve project deadlines and quality standards.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organised work area at all times.
• Comply with all Health & Safety regulations, site procedures, and PPE requirements.
• Carry out any other duties related to steel fixing as reasonably assigned by site management.

Requirements

• Minimum 6 months’ experience as a Steel Fixer within the construction industry.
• Basic English communication skills.
• Knowledge of steel fixing techniques, reinforcement placement, and structural drawings.
• Good manual dexterity, physical stamina, and attention to detail.
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively under supervision and as part of a team.
• Strong awareness of Health & Safety requirements and safe working practices.
• Skill card, trade certification, or relevant construction qualification will be considered an asset.
