Spatial Designer

Job Summary

The Development Department is a specialised unit whose function is to consolidate the Group’s activities in the development sector. The Spatial Designer shall assist the architectural and interior design team in the preparation of drawings, schedules, technical documentation, authority submissions and project-related information. The role includes the production of accurate CAD drawings, site surveys, documentation management and general project support throughout the design and construction process.

Responsibilities:

• Produce accurate CAD drawings, including plans, sections, elevations, and detailed technical documentation.
• Prepare measured drawings and record existing site conditions.
• Translate design sketches and concepts from architects or engineers into clear, coordinated technical drawings.
• Update drawings and documentation to reflect design changes, feedback, and coordination requirements.
• Ensure all drawings comply with office standards, project specifications, and relevant regulations.
• Coordinate drawing sets with architects, engineers, and other disciplines to maintain consistency and accuracy.
• Maintain organised drawing registers, revision logs, and version control systems.
• Assist in preparing construction drawings, tender packages, and presentation materials.
• Review shop drawings and material submissions for alignment with design intent.
• Conduct basic site measurements or record existing site conditions.
• Communicate with consultants, contractors, and suppliers to clarify drawing-related queries.
• Compiling presentations and other visual aids.
• Preparing documentation for application to the PA, Lands and other authorities.
• Assist in administrative tasks necessary for the effective operation of the Development Department.
• Attend meetings with clients and team members as necessary.
• Supervision on site and work outside the office if required.

​Requirements:

• MQF Level 4 or equivalent qualification in drafting, architecture, design, construction, engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Good working knowledge of CAD software, preferably AutoCAD, together with the ability to prepare clear, accurate and organised architectural drawings.
• Understanding of architectural drawings, scaled sketches, site measurements, schedules, planning documentation and basic construction-related terminology.
• Ability to conduct site surveys, take accurate measurements, translate sketches into technical drawings, and prepare supporting documentation for projects and applications.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy and organisation, particularly when preparing drawings, schedules, project records and documentation for internal and external use.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to follow instructions, liaise with architects, engineers, project team members and external parties, and work effectively within a team environment
