Job Summary
AX Development is looking for a Junior Architectural Designer. The department is a specialised unit whose function is to consolidate the Group’s activities in the development sector. The ‘architectural designer’ is responsible for assisting in creating architectural drawings for the planning stage, preparing detailed design drawings and related documentation concerning tender packages, and visiting sites as requested. The candidate must give particular attention to detail and be capable of handling several demanding projects at different levels and to the highest specifications and standards of the Group.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare neat and organised CAD drawings
- Conduct surveys/site measurements of properties
- Prepare schedules of materials, light fitting, furniture etc.
- Prepare scaled sketches of proposals and site measurements
- Translate sketches into CAD drawings
- Compile presentations and other visual aids
- Prepare documentation for application to the PA, Lands and other authorities
- Assist in any administrative work necessary
- Organise project documentation
- Attend meetings with clients and team members and provide as necessary
- Supervise sites and work outside the office when required
- Prepare comparative analysis of rates
- Liaise with architects and engineers to obtain direction and instructions.
- Assist in the general Contract Management
- Other professional or general office work may be required for the proper functioning and management of the Development office and the company in general
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Spatial Design or Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Construction Engineering or Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Built Environment Studies
- 1-3 years of experience in the industry.
- Fast and proficient with the latest AutoCAD software
- Have technical knowledge of different materials and their performance specs
- Good at communicating both verbally(in English) and visually by means of sketches
- Knowing architecture terminology and industry standards
- Proficient in Photoshop and other software from the Adobe suite is considered an asset
- Knowledge in REVIT will be viewed as an asset but is not a requirement
- Having a flair for design will be considered an asset
- Interested applicants must submit a portfolio (if available) and a sample of their CAD work in DWG format.
