Celebrating Our Sliema Employees: AX Hotels Hosts Annual General Meeting

As a leading hospitality operator in Malta, AX Hotels is dedicated to creating an exceptional work culture that values its diverse and multi-talented employees. Recently, the company held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) for its Sliema teams at the luxurious Royal Hall located within AX The Palace. The event was hosted by General Manager, Mr Kevin Callus, and Hotel Manager, Mr James Galea, who recognised and rewarded the invaluable contributions made by AX Hotels employees to the company’s success over the past year.

At AX Hotels, we take great pride in our commitment to constant improvement, and the AGM provided a perfect opportunity for our team to reflect on the previous year’s successes and explore ways to further elevate the guest experience across our Sliema hotels. Our employees shared invaluable feedback and innovative ideas that will inform our upcoming initiatives and plans, ensuring that we continue to exceed our guests’ expectations.

Mr Callus also unveiled exciting news regarding the hotel’s new back-of-house offices. This new facility has been meticulously designed to provide our employees with a comfortable and inspiring work environment, encouraging productivity and boosting job satisfaction. The introduction of these state-of-the-art offices is a testament to our commitment to investing in our employees and fostering a culture of excellence at AX Hotels.

AX Hotels’ commitment to providing an exceptional work culture that values its employees was further reflected in the range of awards given out at the AGM. Employees who demonstrated outstanding performance and dedication were recognised and celebrated for their hard work.

Abdul Ghaffar and Ivana Stavnjak, from the Front Office and F&B teams at The Palace respectively, were awarded the Summer Achiever awards for their exceptional work. Meanwhile, Jade Stewart and Svetlana Farrugia, both Senior HK Supervisors, received Winter Achiever awards for their outstanding contributions.

Two AX Hotels employees, Doma Lama and Charles Portelli, were nominated for the prestigious Malta Tourism Authority awards, highlighting their dedication and passion towards delivering exceptional hospitality. Netra Prasad, the Concierge at The Palace, was awarded the Smile Champion award for providing exceptional customer service, while the kitchen team at The Victoria received the Best Department award for consistently providing an outstanding culinary service to our guests and diners.

The AGM culminated in an exciting raffle where our employees had the chance to win an array of prizes, from luxury hampers to fine wines and whiskies, as well as dinner and accommodation vouchers. The celebration continued with a delectable lunch served in the reception area outside the Royal Hall, creating a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere for our team to socialise and strengthen their bonds. At AX Hotels, we believe that a happy and connected workforce is essential for achieving success, and we will continue to invest in creating a positive and inclusive work culture for our valued employees.
