Job summary
The Assistant Front office manager will assist the Front office manager for the overall operation of the front office, including the management of Desk agents, concierge. The Assistant front office manager is also responsible for ensuring that all front office staff provide courteous, professional, and efficient service to all guests. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a hotel front office, as well as experience managing a team of employees. He or she will be organized, efficient, and able to handle multiple tasks at once. The Assistant front office manager will also be responsible for ensuring that all front office staff are properly trained and that they adhere to all hotel policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all guests receive prompt, professional, and courteous service at all times.
- Supervise the activities of the front desk staff to ensure efficient and smooth operations.
- Resolve guest complaints in a timely and efficient manner.
- Monitor guest check-in and check-out procedures.
- Prepare shift reports detailing guest complaints, room availability, and housekeeping status.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure that guest requests and needs are met promptly.
- Train new front desk employees on hotel policies and procedures
- Ensure that all front desk employees adhere to the hotel’s dress code and grooming standards.
- Handle guest inquiries and requests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Update the hotel’s reservation system on a daily basis.
- Process guest payments in a timely and efficient manner.
- Balance cash drawers at the end of each shift
Requirements:
- A good standard of education
- Fluency in English and another European language.
- Be computer literate
- Has experience working on Hotel Systems
- Has a minimum of 2 year working experience in Front of House operations and leading a team
- Able to take decisions and lead a team of subordinates.
- Able to work on his/her own initiative.
- Excellent Guest Relations skills.
- Able to handle department roster and payroll in the absence of the Front Office Manager
- Flexible in hours
- Able to take decisions in the absence of the Front Office Manager
- Candidate must be residing in Malta.
