Job Summary:
AX Care is looking for a Housekeeping Team Lead to be directly involved in housekeeping tasks while also supervising and guiding the housekeeping team. The role requires maintaining high standards of cleanliness, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and contributing to the overall well-being of residents at Hilltop Gardens Retirement Village and Simblija Care Home.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and guide the housekeeping team in daily tasks.
- Provide hands-on training to ensure proficiency in cleaning techniques and protocols.
- Assist in scheduling and coordinating work assignments to meet cleanliness standards.
- Perform housekeeping tasks, including laundry, cleaning resident rooms, and common areas.
- Ensure thorough and efficient cleaning practices are consistently maintained.
- Address and rectify deficiencies promptly.
- Prioritize resident comfort and satisfaction in all housekeeping activities.
- Respond to resident cleanliness requests or concerns promptly and effectively.
- Enforce adherence to health and safety regulations and proper handling of cleaning materials.
- Monitor and manage cleaning supplies, place orders as needed, and maintain inventory levels.
- Collaborate with other departments on housekeeping-related needs.
- Communicate with staff and management regarding housekeeping initiatives and escalate issues as needed.
- Identify training needs and coordinate on-the-job training sessions.
- Develop and maintain staff rosters, ensuring adequate coverage and managing time-off requests.
- Monitor attendance and punctuality, addressing any discrepancies to maintain efficiency.
Requirements:
- 1 years of experience in housekeeping or cleaning roles
- Ability to lead, motivate, and supervise housekeeping staff, including assigning tasks, conducting training, and providing feedback.
- Ensuring rooms and facilities are cleaned and maintained to the highest standards.
- Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively, especially when handling multiple tasks or a large staff.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with staff and management, and addressing guest concerns.
- Ability to handle complaints, resolve issues, and make decisions under pressure
- Ensuring guest satisfaction by maintaining a high level of cleanliness and responding to their needs.
- Familiarity with cleaning techniques, use of cleaning equipment and chemicals, and health and safety regulations.
- Experience managing and maintaining cleaning supplies, linens, and other housekeeping-related inventory
- Knowledge of hygiene standards and safety procedures to ensure compliance with local laws and organizational policies.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, based on the demands of the facility.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and being on your feet for extended periods.
